Helen Jayne Art

Thank you for stopping by Helen Jayne Art, my name is Helen and I’m an artist based in Kenilworth Warwickshire.  Hopefully whilst you are here I can give you a glimpse of my artistic world without the lengthy annotations and the legendary artistic angst.

In short I was a Graphic Designer Illustrator, but I’ve found and developed a real love for fine art.  My work spans across land, sea and cityscapes, with the occasional break into portraiture, animal and human.  My artistic life is shaped daily by the scenery on my doorstep and by the places I visit,  and by the weather I find there, rain, shine and snow, sunset and sunrise, open skies and city scenes.  I’m challenged by and enjoy commissions, and paint almost every day developing a gallery of work that I hope you can enjoy too.

My painting style, is at first glance representational, but if you look closely you may see underlying detail in textures that are created by free running paint, that is allowed to run along the canvas.  Things often start off a little random, but then I’ll paint into the texture, carving the scenery back into something recognisable.
